So I think my period is coming. Actually, I know it is because my phone app tells me it should be here in 2 days. It has been getting worse in the last several months, and I am finally going to go see a PCOS specialist again to see if there's anything I can be doing. It just sucks to be laying there knowing you feel like shit because of this cruddy hormonal change taking place in your body at this particular time and have nothing you can do about it. I know this is only the beginning and I am sure to be a raging lunatic when my "change of life" occurs, but until then I will try and keep myself under control!
Today I came home from work and just felt blah . . .went to lay down for a little bit, and that seemed to do the trick. DP and I went out for dinner, came home and played Life.
We are having a game night tomorrow with some friends, and I bought Life for the occasion. I had downloaded it on my phone for the WI trip over the holidays and I forgot how fun it was. We have also been getting together with another couple about once a month to play Spite and have dinner. They turned us onto this game over the summer and we are addicted. I am not so good, but it's fun to get together. DP and deemed me our social planner, and I am trying to keep up sufficiently social, while still going to see mom and dad, working weekends, and keeping up with the dust bunnies!
What are some of your favorite games?

I can totally relate when you are talking about your period. I am wondering if I am starting perimenopause. My periods aren't worse, but boy do I seem to crash and burn emotionally the same time everye month. I am so worried about going through menopause.
I love the game Life. When I was a kid I would play it with my cousins and I would *buy* their kids because I wanted as many kids as I could get. lol
Have you ever paid SkipBo? I love that game also.
P.S. Welcome back. I missed you.

I'm always so happy to read your voice here! Glad you're back. :)
Have you tried talking with a naturopath about some supplements that might help? I don't know of any off hand, because anything like that is way in my past, but I know there are some simple supplements that have been godsends for me with other issues. I'm currently off all prescriptions, and even my arthritis and fibromyalgia are doing well. Might be worth a stop at a good herb store to chat with a person who does know about those things. And good luck with it.
BTW, I saw the FB entry about your slippers. GAH! That happened here once, too, and I have no idea what the deal was! I hope your doesn't recur, either!
We play cards at our house.
Crowns is especially fun.
We also play a game called shit on your neighbor :) also fun.
Sorry about your period. I hope you can get something done about it.
Seriously? They have an app for that. I'm so old school when it comes to phones...mine is for talking, yeah, who am I kidding, texting only...no internet no apps, not fancy anything...but I'm highly amused at the fact that there is an app out there that will send you a reminder that your period is coming... this may be the funniest thing I've heard in a while.
Caroline-I used to play Skip-bo when I used to work with delinquent girls . ..but damned if I know how to play now. We had a fun game night--though note that when you play Life with 6 people it takes a looonnnnnggg time! Thanks for the welcome back . .I will try and be more consistent!
Lyn-I haven't talked to anyone about natural supplements, but I have recently started to take a few. We'll see how that goes. I have a few doc appointments to see what we can figure out. Yeah, about the dog, we actually think it might have been drool and not pee . . .she would have had to have impeccable aim and well, she dribbles and you would think that I would have had some around the slipper. The last few days I have noticed her sleeping on my flip flops I have next to the bed.
KJ?? Shit on your neighbor? I think I need more information about this!!
Tommy-It's actually a really cool app. It is for folks who are tracking fertility stuff, but it has been spot on and charts how long your cycles are, how many days the periods last, you can also track symptoms but I don't do that. I had such irregular periods that it was helping. Now I am insanely regular despite the PCOS. They last only 4 days, but hurt like hell. Have a doc appt. in a few weeks and hopefully they might have some ideas as to what I can do.
